JEE Advanced Reservation Criteria 2020


Join Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced 2020 exams are soon going to be held in the month of May 2020. After the students have clearned the exam of JEE Main 2020 april shift. Only those candidates would be elligible to give JEE advanced 2020 thosse are among top 2,50,000 successful candidates including all category in B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE (Main) 2020.

Indian citizens are belonging to different categories are admitted to have different seats reserved for them inaccordance to rules of government of India. The category and the extend of reservation as follows:-

General category belonging to weaker sections (GEN-EWS) has been reserved with 10% of seats in every course. Only those candidates will be benifited that have OM No.20013/01/2018-BC-II as per date 17 January 2019 issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) has been avail with 27% of seats in every course. OBC must have updated their list as soon as possible on the official website. OBC’s that are present in the state list but not covered in the central list of OBC’s would not be benifitted to claim the reservation.

Candidates belonging to the creamy layer of OBC are not entitled for reservation. Such candidates will be treated as people of general category and will be eligible only for the OPEN seats. Scheduled Caste (SC) with 15% in every course and Scheduled Tribe (ST) with 7.5% of seats in every course.

Person with disability (PWD) candidates are reserved for 5% seats in each of OPEN, GEN-EWS,OBC-NCL,SC and ST category seats. Only those candidates would be benefited who would have at least 40% impairment irresepctive of the type of disability i.e. locomotor, visual or serve dyslexic.

Defence Service (DS) candidates are the childeren of defence/paramilitary personnel that have been killed or have become permanently distabled in the action during war or peacetime operations. Duch candidates are benefitted with 2 seat reservation.

Female Candidates – To improve the gender balance in the undergrowng programs at the IIT’s a decision has been taken at the level of IIT council to reserve 20% of seat reservation in 2020-2021 for femail candidates. The supernumerary seats will be offered only to the those female candidates who will be declared qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2020.
